The Heritage Club of DRV DAV Centenary Public School, Phillaur, in collaboration with the Humanity Group students, organised an inspiring and interactive Youth Parliament Session on 2.12.25. The event aimed to familiarise students with the functioning of the parliamentary system while nurturing confidence, leadership, and responsible citizenship.
The programme began with a warm welcome by the faculty coordinator of the Heritage Club, who highlighted the importance of youth engagement in democracy. Students from the Humanity Group took the lead in planning, moderating, and presenting various segments of the session, showcasing commendable teamwork and dedication.
The Youth Parliament officially commenced with the election of the Speaker, followed by the presentation of agendas reflecting current social and national issues. Students actively participated in Question Hour, Zero Hour, debate rounds, and the introduction of mock bills. Their articulate speeches, logical arguments, and disciplined conduct created a realistic parliamentary atmosphere.
A special highlight of the event was the address by our respected Principal, Mr. Yogesh Gambhir. In his motivating words, he praised the efforts of the Heritage Club and Humanity Group students for organising such a meaningful programme. He encouraged students to stay informed, think critically, and contribute responsibly to the nation’s future. His guidance added great value and inspired everyone present.
The audience deeply appreciated the confidence, clarity, and awareness displayed by the student parliamentarians. The event successfully enhanced students’ understanding of parliamentary democracy and strengthened their communication and leadership skills.
The Youth Parliament Session concluded on a positive note, celebrating the collective efforts of teachers and students who made the event a memorable success.
