The Arayabhat Club of DRV DAV Centenary Public School, Phillaur celebrated National Mathematics Day with great enthusiasm and academic spirit to commemorate the birth anniversary of the legendary Indian mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan. The celebration aimed to ignite curiosity, logical thinking, and a love for mathematics among students of all classes by presenting the subject in an engaging and joyful manner.
Class I and II students joyfully learned addition and subtraction using objects and visual aids.
Class III students explored the world of geometry by creating 3D shapes using clay and toothpicks . On the other hand Class IV students enjoyed Maths fun games with matchsticks enhancing their problem-solving skills and numerical creativity.
Students of class V showcased their artistic talents through poster making, beautifully expressing mathematical ideas with colours and creativity. Class VI students enthusiastically participated in Maths Bingo, reinforcing mathematical concepts in a playful and interactive way.
Class VII students were shown an informative video showcasing the life history and remarkable contributions of Srinivasa Ramanujan, inspiring young minds with his journey of dedication and brilliance.
Class IX students created impactful posters on National Mathematics Day, highlighting the importance of mathematics in everyday life, from budgeting to technology and science. Students of Classes IX and XI jointly presented a unique activity titled “Math Alive – Human Symbols”, where students formed mathematical symbols and concepts through human formations, making learning both visual and memorable.
Principal , Dr Yogesh Gambhir opined that mathematics is not just about numbers but a vital part of life that encourages reasoning, creativity, and innovation. The event also paid a heartfelt tribute to Srinivasa Ramanujan, whose extraordinary contributions continue to inspire generations
