From darkness to the light that empowers us to commit ourselves to good deeds, that which brings us closer to divinity; lights illuminate every corner of India during Diwali and the scent of incense sticks hang in the air, mingled with the sounds of fire-crackers, joy, togetherness and hope.

DRV DAV Centenary Public School, Phillaur celebrated festival of Diwali with great fervor. Varied activities were done by students. Diwali is the festival of hope that is an inherent part of every individual's life. Students of 1st and 2nd class exhibited glimpses of Diwali scenes. Candles were decorated by the students of 3rd and 4th std. Rangoli at the entrance welcomes positive energy and wards off negative energy. Therefore, colourful and attractive rangoli was made by 5th and 6th std. Giving a Greeting card gift is always a good idea, as it is a unique gift that reminds the receiver of warm thoughts towards them. Hence 7th std. made beautiful diwali cards. The lighting of Diyas is one of the significant rituals that people do on the day of Diwali therefore candles and diya decoration was done by 8th class students. Decorated Diwali Puja Thalis with ones own hands by placing having all the Puja accessories is a delightful which gives an individual a sense of divine feeling. Students of 9th decorated thali and 10th class prepared beautiful vandanvars to decorate the entrance to ward off evil spirits and bad omens that might enter through the various entrances of the house. Each team from 7th to 12th also class made Rangoli. All things associated with diwali filled the ambience with festivity and serenity. Principal, Dr Yogesh Gambhir greeted all the students and the staff a very Happy and prosperous Diwali.
